PPC - Learn or
BURN
Apart from buying useless get rich quick schemes, PPC or Pay
Per Click advertising would have to rate as one of the fastest
ways for internet marketers, particularly aspiring ones, to
waste money.
Obviously, if people weren’t making money from
those boxed ads on your search pages, they wouldn’t
exist. They belong to two groups of advertisers –
those who know what they are doing (and converting their
clicks to sales), and those who don’t (they are the ones
wasting money).
The PPC marketers who survive and prosper are the ones who
have learned the techniques involved in creating successful
campaigns. It may have taken them years, but they have realized
how important certain strategies are to their campaign’s
success. These include:
Researching Your Niche
As with any internet marketing initiative, success will
depend on whether you have a product that your niche wants to
buy. Sounds simple, but it is where many people with
great ideas go wrong. You see, just because you THINK
they will want to buy it, doesn’t make it so. You need to
know what their needs are, and give them exactly what they
need. It is about them, not you.
Use The Right Keywords
There would be few winning PPC marketers that would argue
with the statement that using the right keywords
will make or break your campaign. There are many keyword
tools now that will help you with this, but again, the experts
are using very specific methods of research. You should
learn these if you too want to succeed with pay per click.
You Want Buyers!
Have you used the words “Bargain”, “Discount” or “Free” in
your PPC ads. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Using these words will
bring bargain and freebie hunters to your site – is this what
you want, or do you want BUYERS. You pay each time one of
these tire-kicking, something-for-nothing people clicks on your
link. This costs you money, each and every time.
Emotive Language Gets
Clicks
You don’t get many words to play with in a pay per click ad
so make them count. You need your keyword in the heading and at
least once in the other two lines – which leaves you less for
your message. Emotive words like “Imagine”, “The Right”,
“How To” stir the need in people, and a sense of urgency is
created with “The Fastest”, “Limited Time”, “Exclusive
Offer”.
Know The System
Learn how the whole pay per click system works –
get PPC training, its cheap,
and the top trainer has a comprehensive step-by-step program
that costs less than $40 – a bargain when you think about how
much you have probably wasted on pay per click so
far.
You need to learn about adjusting the settings for maximum
effect – I ask you: do you really need your ad showing in every
country, 24 hours a day. No way. This is just one example
of how you could be throwing your advertising budget at the
ether.
As far as I’m concerned, there are no short-cuts here.
Get PPC training (but only from someone who has demonstrated
success), before wasting another cent.
Best Trainer
I have no doubt whatsoever that the best PPC trainer in the
world today is James Schramko. No doubt. If you are
serious about learning just about everything there is to know
about maximizing your PPC efforts in order to get great
conversions, then I suggest you take a good, hard look at
his DoubleDigitCTR training
package. It may cost less than $40, but for my mind, its
priceless.
Pause, Take Stock
Whoever you decide upon for your PPC training - take action
now. First stop, Pause any campaigns you have running now
if their clicks are not converting to sales. Start saving
money today. Don't delete them though, they will be a good
measure of the how much better your new, intelligent campaigns
are.
